Well done, Carl. Looks a lot like a Morphy knight, to use the Camaratta codex - so I suggest you call the set the "1850". Will it be a full club-size set?

Hi Frank
thank you!! yes it'll be full club in boxwood/ebony..limited to a run of 50 sets with certificate, box kingstamp and our brand on boxwood kings footrim ..we want to run these in natural boxwood without the antique, so they become actual aged heirlooms , that the plan anyhow.

offering them in natural boxwood is an excellent choice. Please put my name down for one of the sets.

Bunnykins knight went down a treat at easter, BUT........moving on......Thought Id share this, our latest Jaques Knight currently in production, one minor modification is we are reducing the ears slightly .....that said, Im extremely pleased with this knight..............
Here is certainly a new Hit from our best chess seller/maker...
(there is a long time that It was clear for me that Carl was a Hit man ...)
Congratulations Carl for your always high level of Requirement/Perfectionism

Without a doubt, Carl has placed himself and his company to the front of the Chess Set reproduction business. The sets that he has been creating and offering are the best. I know that the Leuchars set he recently came out with, and I bought by the way, is exceptional in looks, individual piece design, build, and quality. And all of this at a very reasonable price to boot.
I also own the Broadbent Series, two of the Morphy Series (Ebonized and Sheesham), the Piatigorsky, and the above mentioned Leuchars set from him. They are all among the best I own.
And I must step in and agree with the others regarding this latest Knight creation. It is looking very accurate and good.

Thank you so much Ron ! much appreciated

Hm, I see 'natural boxwood' mentioned. I should point out that the 'boxwood' used in all these Indian made sets is not Buxus sepervirens (AKA European or true boxwood) but a similar wood from a different genus.

I see that Frank is trying to con a client into buying one of his overpriced 'superior quality' sets which has cheap knights instead of good quality knights and a lot of damage but I wonder when if ever he will wake up and smell the coffee.

Hi Carl,Congratulations! the knight looks great, please add my name also for one of the 50 sets.
with the aid of Photoshop....antique look...who would know its a repro, seriously! ( well perhaps Alan would)
I will update when the full set is available....thank you for your kind comments.
In fairness that's the best copy of the early knight I've seen yet. The slightly bigger jowl and more open mouth are spot on.
many thanks!
