@lotsoblots, if you will make an update within the next day then I might make an order before the weekend .
Review - World Chess Official Academy Chess Set

OK, here are a few shots from the ground ... I'm really struggling to get decent lighting right now and I have no photography skills whatsoever. Let me know if there's a different angle or position and I'll try my best to oblige. By the way, the king diameter appears to be 29-30mm. I don't have calipers or a nice ruler even, so hopefully that's close enough.

Thank you @lotsoblots! Those pictures are perfect . So the ratio is around 60% of the square in 50mm squares. I was afraid that the ratio will feel too loose but as I am looking at the images I can see that this size seems to be actually very fine regarding the spacious feeling on the board. It actually looks cosy
.
You wrote that you love this set - can you write something more about it? From your perspective of owning also the 100% set - do you prefer to use the studio one, or the Championship one? I will be grateful for any kind of insight regarding how this set suits you
. I think that other people here will be happy to read that as well
.

I don't have any great insights or inspirational words, unfortunately. I just really love the set.
I think around our house it's sometimes difficult to dedicate an entire area to a full sized board so I tend to like some of the smaller sizes such as my previously referenced 40mm square rechapados ferrer board. The pickings seem to be pretty slim when it comes to high quality small pieces to match that board, however, so I was ecstatic when I found this world chess studio set. It's the same world championship design I love with a pretty high level of quality plus it's weighted. It's expensive at ~$200, but when the alternative was a custom order 80% sized Chavet B210 reproduction from The Chess Empire for $600 then it actually seems pretty reasonable.
These days during the world championship match I've been using the full set more, but I think I'll be putting that away for a bit and switching back to the studio set and/or my staunton castle chavet reproduction.

Like, seriously, how can you have two eyes and a heart and not love this little guy?
Edit: Added a kindle for scale.

To all the "followers" of this thread - thanks to @lotsoblots and @pawnerai, I bought the Studio Set .
I posted the review in its own thread, here:
Review - World Chess Studio Set

Don't buy at World Chess Shop. Shopped for 160 Dollar. They never shipped the product since 4 months. Only lying every month they will do it soon. No money back. Just Scam.

Honestly, I think this set would be an instant buy for me since it seems to be high quality and affordable. I love that all the pieces are the same design as the real official world championship pieces! However, I do not get why the knight design has been changed to a German knight instead of staying more similar to the world championship pieces? My best guess is manufacturing issues or maybe that they still want people to buy their wooden sets.

I've bought this set on vinted, but It didn't contain the two spare queens. Is it possible an older version didn't include them? Or I got scammed?
It would be great if you can shoot the pictures also on 50mm board from World Chess. The reason why am I asking is that more and more I am thinking about buying this set as well, after having the full size set for a few days. Also - can you measure the diameter of the king from the studio set, please?
