Searching these things

Hi, I'm searching these things, can you suggest me:

-A good free engine

-A good GUI, with many functions

-A large DB, for searching and studying games and openings. It should contain lots of games, recent and old

I suggest you Lucas Chess, it has some good engines into, a training program system and things like that, it's very good!

I don't know any good db, but you can start from reading Logical Chess move by Move by chernev for annotated GM games, I also suggest you this youtube channel, he analyze some recent games http://www.youtube.com/user/TheDaviddol/videos... I know a good opening book, but i don't remember the name, i'm sorry :( but on Lucas Chess there is an opening book system.

take a look at these, they are basically the strongest engines, i would recamend houdini and stockfish, but the others are all good.

A lot of us use Scid vs. PC for a GUI, as also has an extremely fast and reliable database system. There's a mega thread in this forum on it.

I'll take a look to scid vs pc. I already downloaded for a little time, but never explored its functions carefully. If anyone has other suggestions, please write. I'm especially searching good dbs
