Great set; especially like the bishop and the base on the pawns.

Greetings.
Made a post when I first got this set back in January but I didn't have a board to go with it. But now that I do, picture time!
I know this Knight design rustles certain people's jimmies due to its rebellious, hippie, wild, reckless manes, but I like to alternate between the self-composed lavish Imperial Series set and this savagery. Certainly not a traditional Staunton which is my preferred taste, however I enjoy culture. Much the like the Knight, I don't really care what society thinks! Huzzah!
Mandeep or whoever is behind designing and sculpting these pieces deserve much respect for their talents. This set carries a sense of luxury not just on design but production. Staunton Castle may not beat ChessBazaar in prices but I suspect there is an extra step of attention and care done. I wouldn't hesitate purchasing from them again.
I honestly have a hard time encountering "flaws" for the dark side. The Padauk pieces are overwhelmingly exceptional. I could not find anything to pick on. Tool marks? Deformities? Nada. Zilch.
The Boxwood is a bit easier to pick on. Polishing/buffing/etc. was not perfect.
All I could really find to be picky, for the skeptical folks. No cracks (phew)! And a reminder, I received this set in January, during a global pandemic and market desperation for chess sets. All for less than $300 with no applied discounts at the time of purchase.
What else could I be picky on? The fact that it was advertised as a 4.25" King but in reality it's 4.5"? Sheesh, what a terrible false advertisement! (though I'm certain there will always be angry Karens complaining about the extra height)
Both Kings are weighing in at a whopping 118-119 grams. I'm not particularly crazy about the Aztec-Emperor-Type King, but this set is one of those things that its looks grows on you over time. My wife thinks the Queen is cute.
Also, the Pawns are humongous. The Aztec diet must have been wild indeed. LOL! By the way, the Rook design is so cool.

Good knight, folks!
