Let us know if your set is also good. It looks like only color variation is main difference with the black pieces. When you receive the chess set. Ranging from a dark rosewood color, to a lighter brown.
And that is totally acceptable as long as the set received has all matching black pieces.

It´s, within limits, acceptable if the dark pieces are made from naturally dark wood but less so if the variation is due to sloppy staining. But rest assured, I will post photos of my sets.

This is natural wood. No stained wood. I never buy stained woods, even for $25. 
I ended up ordering two sets, both came today (running late), and one of them had a damaged white pawn (collar broken off and loose in bag) and one of the dark queens had a broken crown. Other set was perfect. Ordered replacement, hopefully it comes intact as my two extras will be gifts. Really are a great deal for the money for sure. Of all three, the dark pieces seem to be made of the same wood and are of same color/hue.
My set arrived today. There is no damage and the dark pieces are uniformly medium brown, with maybe a little bit of variation due to grain density. I'd say they are slightly darker than sheeham sets I own. One white rook has a dark mark near the top, and several felts are roughly cut. I'm very pleased for $25.
The pieces look nice on that chess board.

I purchased the French Lardy chess set on Thursday and it arrived Saturday. The chess set package arrived undamaged.
The chess set was packed inside the chess bag that also comes with the purchase of the chess set. The chess bag is of good quality and is perfectly serviceable for storing the chess set.
The chess pieces arrived undamaged. And all 34 chess pieces were received.
The chess pieces are well carved. But the chess pieces do have some minor tool marks on some of the chess pieces. But nothing that detracts from the chess set. The felt is of good quality, and none of the felt was lose, or uncentered.
The set has a 4 inch king, and does come with extra queens for the $24.99 price along with the chess bag.

This is a great chess set for $24.99. But the chess set does have some minor tool marks. But this chess set is in the $100+ class of quality in both weighting, felts, and carving. I have received from other manufactures in a wooden chess set.
