After viewing Gabriel's wonderful YouTube video on the making of his gorgeous 3.5" 1950 Dubrovnik Olympiad Set I asked him if he would make one for me. He agreed. But since my favorite size are sets with 4" Kings I asked him if he could instead make a 4" version. Thankfully he agreed. According to Gabriel's research, there are two versions of the 1950 Olympiad Knights and he agreed to make both versions with my set. His knight carvings are outstanding. The pieces are made of maple and walnut. I chose to not have the pieces weighted, just like the vintage originals. My camera is old and wearing down and the quality of my pics do not do justice to this superb reproduction. Enjoy the PHOTO SHOOT
My favourite size is also the 4" and 3.75" is a close second. This 1950 reproduction is beautifully scaled to 4". Aesthetically, with the exception of the knight, I think the 1950 is better than the revised 2 version. Does the Gabriel Coss has a contact for the people who are interested on getting 4" 1950?
You can message Gabriel @

Hi Mike
This is a beautiful set. How do you use that contact address for Gabriel?
I contacted Gabriel via Chess.com menu -> Messages then just type coss5367 on the recipient box. He has not replied to my message though.

Gabriel just replied to me and he's not taking orders lately.
Hi goodknightmike ; Can I ask you to upload pictures with the front of the Knight? I'm interested to see what the faces are like. Thanks for your post. The set are very well made pieces. Congratulations.
