This book is referenced in Averbakh and Maizelis, Pawn Endings as having credited Maizelis for pointing out the winning idea in a position that allegedly arose in Schlage -- Ahues, Berlin 1921. The game is said to have ended as a draw because Schlage moved his king straight along the seventh rank, unaware of the principles of taxicab geometry.

The Russian Endgame Handbook by Ilya Rabinovich

I just picked up a copy of this book and I have to say that in just glancing through it there is an awful lot of errata.
Anyone have a chance to read through much of this yet? I can't find an errata guide online...
