Tournament Chess Books

Hi Everyone

I am interested in hearing about books written on specific tournaments that you think are classics or perhaps hidden gems that are not well known.  It could be a book on a specific year of a tournament or a book on the tournament over the years . I am interested more on those books that provide some history and hopefully have some nice historical photographs. Thanks in advance

Hastings 1895 is an awesome book about one of the first super-tournaments, with individual portraits of all of the contestants.  In addition, all of the games are annotated by a third player in the field.

Pro:  Given the age of the book, it is available for free download via Google Books

Con:  Descriptive Notation.

Hastings 1895 has been re-published in an algebraic edition. Apart from the ones above, the two books on the Piatigorsky Cup edited by Isaac Kashdan are excellent choices, as is Paul Keres' on the 1948 World Championship Tournament. Nottingham 1936 by Alekhine. The AVRO 1938 International Chess Tournament by Brandreth, Robert and Sherwood. The books on the 1925, 1935 and 1936 Moscow tournaments, St Petersburg 1914 by Tarrasch, Curacao 1962 by Jan Timman, San Antonio 1972 by Larsen and Levy.
