Well, my question to you is are you looking for a handheld travel computer, where you would use a stylus; or something that is table-top, yet portable?

I should have clarified that. Handheld travel chess computer...
I would be sure to SHOP AROUND for the best price! Case in point: I got the New York Times Deluxe Talking Chess (from Excalibur) on www.bn.com for around $60, and I've seen it other places for upwards of $90 bucks!!
A number of people feel the best travel chess computers are Palms or Blackberries, etc, running one of the many chess programs made for it. Check out this thread.
I didn't have a palm already, and I didn't have any great need to save pgn files for games that I'm playing "on the fly", so I went with the NYT/Excalibur.
I have an iphone, and I recently jailbroke it, so I was able to put a NES emulator on it and download the ROM for the old school nintendo game "the chessmaster" hahah.
It's pretty sweet.
That, and they have 'decent' chess games for iPhone.
I dont know if you have an iPhone, or similarly compatible PDA, but it works pretty well.

I have this one. It's strong (1900-2000), and a little bigger than some, which is good for someone with bigger fingers like myself! https://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/index.php?title=Mephisto_Diplomat_Advanced_Travel_Chess_Computer
I used to own a Novag chess computer that you used with an actual board and then enter your moves, like, 1. e4...then the computer would display it's move and then you moved the piece on your board. What is a good novice to advanced Travel Chess Computer these days? And where is the most inexpensive place to buy it from? Thanks!
