Nice to see another keyboard warrior here! Your expertise in our industry is?!?!
Just remember, this is a free and open market. You don't have to buy anything you don't want to. Anyone who truly knows me understands I am one of the last innovators in the market (yes, I am being a little pompous here!) When the minimum run on a set like this is 3000 units, I would hope a rational person would understand me wanting to recoup some of my money from the current run.
The goal here is to put out the best set possible. Learn from our mistakes and make it better. This takes time. We needed to see how the sets held up, get feedback, and figure out ways to make it better and then go from there. That takes time.
Just out of curiosity...are you going to buy one of the new updated sets when they come out, or are you just bloviating here to make yourself look better?
I agree with EyeChess. Send me $25,000 and I will have this on the shelves in a month and a half.
If you want to cut me down...go for it. It is one of the drawbacks about being an innovator in our industry. There will always be haters.
Thanks

Please hire someone to do your PR for you. Calling anyone that criticises you a "keyboard warrior" is just juvenile. While you're at it, perhaps hire someone as well that can test the colours before you give the go ahead for a run that apparently cost you over $25000. Business man to business man. These failings are on you. No one else so try taking some responsibility.
"Your expertise in the industry is?"
Grow up. If I'm in the market for a BMW do I need to be a qualified mechanic or engineer before I purchase one?
I love your ultimate chess set. Nearly everyone in the chess scene does. What we don't appreciate is your rudeness and basic lack of business acumen. You expect the chess world to pay for your mistake. You won't make a new run because you know if you do the yellow ones will remain unsold. Why not try lowering the price substantially on the yellow ones? Then they might sell and you can give everyone what they want.
You don't have "haters"...Please come back down to planet earth. You make chess pieces. You're not a new age mumble rapper.
I mean seriously..."haters" how unprofessional can one be.
@pbwilson If you went to the Naval Academy. Blue & Yellow would be fitting for the Blue Angels as well. LOL! Yeah the yellow can be a bit over powering but I have found to make lemonade out of lemons. Get it? With the right color of board. The yellow isn't too bad. Since these bold yellow sets were a one time run. Might be a collector set 10-20 years down the road. Ivory/White to me is over powering and blends too much for me. On wood grain printed roll up boards they are fine but as for the plain jane green & white boards. I don't like it so much.
"Isn't too bad". So you admit it's bad. No offence but I fail to see how you pairing a green board with black and nicotine stained yellow pieces is an improvement. They are hideous. You can't polish a turd.
Grow a backbone! If every chess player said it how it is. The pieces are great but the colour is horrendous. I will not buy them then maybe we would have the set properly made. But you guys pretend you like the colour when you clearly think it's bad. And you paid for it? Why? If everyone didn't buy them then the new sets would be made real quick.
