Received email from the first website too... you are further in the process than I, have not had time to look at it today... weekends are very busy for me.  Might not get back to it until Monday.

I’m guessing we can place the order on the website.  Credit card will convert the currency after the order is processed.  Seems the Norwegian currency is (1 Krone) is equal to 15 cent US.  If I am correct about them using the Danish Krone, seems they are.

They're wood (maple). Quite light but usable even for blitz. Used to be very common in Sweden and whereabouts. There are many different versions of the set with small (and not so small) variations, so don't be surprised if the pieces you get are somewhat different from the images you've seen. I've seen them felted and unfelted as well.

Chrka.. Thanks for the info on their website they say the King is 80 MM which is about a 3 1/4 inch King. Do you think the picture posted is might not what they will send if I buy the pieces? Thanks!

Maybe you could ask them to send you a photo? Svenska schackbutiken are usually very helpful (I've ordered from them a couple of times myself) and it seems like a reasonable request if you'll have it delivered to the US.

If you look at Kenardi's photos, you can see two of the styles they've come in. (The first photo and the one from tradera, the one with the masonite board).

kenardi, do these places have English versions of their web sites?

If not, please continue to translate for us.  It is most greatly appreciated.

I would be interested in buying one of these sets when we find out the true prices and details of the sets, along with payment and shipping info.

websites are not "multilingual"...

posting the translation not a problem.

If interested, I use two website for this:

Google Translate:
https://translate.google.com/

Google Translate Web (iTools):
http://itools.com/tool/google-translate-web-page-translator

i don't use Chrome, but pretty sure Chrome "automatically" translates webpages, not sure how well it works.

There are a few Chess retail websites that are multiingual.  I understand the ones you are writing about aren't.

I'll try the above translating links on the sites you mentioned.

Thanks.

If there's some specific (and not too long) bit of text you have problems with post it here and I'm sure someone will help you.  There's plenty of Swedes, Norwegians and Danes here.

Yes, there are multilingual websites... did not mean to imply there is no such thing.  Unfortunately, have not found one in Norway or Sweden selling these chess pieces that is.  Purchasing on the website is going to be a slight challenge.

That is an excellent idea, I have asked this of chess stores before, with cell phones having cameras, this is usually never a problem.

i do prefer what i think might be the "older' style of this set; the one on the board (masonite/fiberboard chess board).
