unusual pieces need more info

hi does anyone have any info on my chess set, tried looking up the theme or maker and i have struck a brick wall. i cant find anything like it. the king is a lion holding a shield and is 5.5" any info would help thankyou in advance

You might want to contact checkmatechesssets.com and find out if they've ever seen your set before.  I do not know much about the makers of chess sets, but it's certainly possible that you can trace this to a company.

At first I thought they might be african, with the animals.  But then I realized that the shield and crown are unmistakably british.  They are most likely medieval inspired, although the faces of the animals are quite odd.  Still looking...
