I play regularly with a friend, and I like to surprise him by bringing different items from my collection. Today I thought I could bring an old clock, a Swiss product (Billions, Zürich).

The clock is massive, loud, but surprisingly easy to use.
My friend: What is this?
I: What do you think what this is?
He: A chess clock?
I: Exactly, well observed.
He: But so a huge think?
I: Exactly.

We began to play. Everybody could here the clock in the restaurant.

I had a good position, but after he castle long I didn’t like so much the direction of the game.

He played well, was able to improve his pawn structure (where did he learn this?)

TIC TAC TIC TAC

I saw that my friend could sac a pawn and open the position for his both rooks against my king, but he didn’t see anything, as usually. As we normally do I was playing with 5 minutes, he with 30, so had to decide fast what to play.

He decided to exchange bishops. I was very happy about this, and my position began to look better, as I could now advance my pawns on the queenside.

TIC TAC TIC TAC

As usually he didn’t see a knight fork, he lost a quality and soon the game.

TIC TAC ... and I stopped the clock in the last seconds.

I will try to post a picture from the clock later.

LOL...but I'll assume the rest of the restaurant patrons were not amused by TIC TAC TIC TAC.

They were talking and drinking, I think they didn’t care.
