Hi all I found this interesting red and white set at a thrift shop.  It appears to be bone and turned.  The pieces unscrew apart.  It is hard see the bone look in the pics.  Not sure how to tell the difference, is that an injection mold mark on the bottom or from being screwed into a lathe?  Someone may have tried to clean the red off one of the pawns as it is kind of pink. It seems like a lot of effort to have a piece come apart in so many components! Any thoughts or ideas? The king is about 2 1/4 tall.  the box didn't come with the set, it was just in a ziplock. the disassembled piece is the king.  Thanks!!!nullnullnullce is the king!  Thanks!!!null

It is a 20th c bone set.

It may be by a German firm called Uhlig. However they were made or imported into America in large numbers.
