What (plastic) Soviet chess set is this?

I came across this plastic Soviet chess set which is said to be from the ’60s or ’70s. All pieces seem to very closely resemble the ’50s Mordovian chessmen, except for those serpentine knights. Does anyone know if this pattern goes by a particular name?

I think the knights lack some definition, but I like their general design.

Also interesting to see a plastic set that looks so much like wood. It kinda looks like the white pieces have been stained. I’ve never seen that before. Does anyone know more about this?

I just came across another version of the same set, described as a ’70s set made of plastic and wood. It’s not clear to me which part—if any—are made of wood. But here you can clearly see the pieces are made of plastic with a layer of paint over them.

These pieces also look clearly painted with an opaque paint, rather than stained or painted with a more translucent paint as in the previous set I posted. Interesting that the sets are not consistent in their presentation. This second set also seems to have shorter finials on the king.
