Anyways. I remember when I started out. I was buying chess books like crazy but I didn't understand most of it. It is important that you pick books that match your level. I think you understand that.
Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess. Best beginners book hands down! If you can lend it at the library that would be fine because once you're done with it you're ready for the next level.
I also recommend Heisman's Novice Nooks. They are free and give you everything you need at this time.

I'm at the bookstore and I am looking at two books for beginners:
THE CHESS PLAYERS BIBLE
and CHESS FOR DUMMIES
Can anyone recommend which one is better? They are both authored by James Eade. I saw great reviews on both. Hopefully I can get some advice on which is better for the beginner ( less than 2 weeks playing)
