Dear All,

I am a beginner (with a ranking about 1200) and I am planning to work through my first general chess manual. I have a choice between:

(1) Euwe's "The Logical Approach to Chess"

(2) Tarrasch's "The Game of Chess"

(3) Lasker's "Manual of Chess"

As you can see I like classics. Still, however, I don't know with which one I should start. Do you have any suggestions? Can anybody compare these titles?

All the best,

Daimonion

The answer is Tarrasch's "The Game Of Chess".  It has been called the best chess book ever written.

I'd like to read them in English. Does it make any crucial difference?
