tactics from scratch then the art books then pawn power then reassess good luck.
which order to read these books?
Anything written by Silman is usually top notch! I would go first with his endgame book. I read somewhere that the Russians start with that.!!

He misses out some really important themes, for example minority attacks.
Weteschnik's book has lots of diagrams, and is easy to follow. Renaud & Kahn is an easy and entertaining read. Personally, I'd do Reassess before Silman's Endgame book, but different people have different opinions on this. Spielmann's book is good, but starting to get more challenging. Dvoretsky tends to assume a high level, and Kmoch's Pawn Power has a lot of obscure jargon that you likely won't need.
Vukovic's The Art of Attack in Chess and Nimzowitsch's My System are two other classics you left out. Neil McDonald is another GM who writes clearly on a lot of important themes.
Hi everyone,
I have been playing for approx. 3 years. I don't have a rating, although I'm regularly beating Shredder in the 1400-1440 range.
I have the following books. Please suggest a reading order, or if I should be reading several at the same time. Thank you!
-Chess Tactics From Scratch (Weteschnik)
-Silman's Complete Endgame Course
-Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual
-Pawn Power in Chess (Kmoch)
-How to Reassess Your Chess (Silman)
-The Art of Checkmate (Renaud/Kahn)
-The Art of Sacrifice in Chess (Spielmann)
