Simple Chess: A great explanation of strategy, making it very easy to understand. You have it on YT as well: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUrgfsyInqNbkyiwPSSBQ6ALkkccKItPE

My suggestion would be to read Max Euwe's two volumes on The Middlegame. There is a new edition with algebraic notation that has red covers. That's really good for starting to understand dynamics and static features in chess, from which any "positional" assessment emanates. Then you could not err by reading Nimzowitsch'a My System and later on Valeri Beim's books (in particular his Back to Basics: Strategy, and Lessons in Chess Strategy).

Also, you could enjoy reading the classic tome Pawn Power in Chess, by Hans Kmoch (also in algebraic now).

Israel Gelfer's Positional Handbook of Chess

"Weapons of Chess" by Bruce Pandolfini. This book took me from 1300-1500.Yasser Sierwan has a book on strategy and another on tactics. This may be an even better resource or an additional resource to "Weapons of Chess". From there I would read "Pawn Structure in Chess" by Andrew Soltis.

well, thats the question isn't it. I believe all chess books are positional chess books. Divided in three phases of the game , opening, middle, and endgame, all books try to convince, explain, or find the best move in the given position. Chess is like a dance, where understanding the dynamics in choosing the right move gives a geometric advantage in tactical or positional advantage in long term play, i.e. strategy. So as they say, learn tactics (which is basically middlegame books and puzzles, how to "attack" books fall in this category as well) , endgame, then opening)

That being said, from all the research i done, these are the best books on positional chess:

1.Questions of modern chess theory

2. Positional play

3. Techniques of Positional play

4. The Tarasch Formula

5. Art of Positional play

6. Test your Positional play

7.Chess training pocket book

8. Under the surface

9. Imagination in chess

10. Secrets of practical chess

11. The Positional invasion in chess

12. GM RAM

like i said, pretty much any chess book will help your chess, besides "The Psychology of the Chess Player". all players need to burn their copy, do not buy or read it. it is the worst book of all books of all time.
