There is something magical about an old hardback book. This is one of my favorites. I know this will be attacked by trolls. Just ignore them. This is a wonderful book. I'm just sharing. It's not for sale.

The only reason I'd attack you is for not also having the dust jacket. :)

On the Facebook group Chess Book Collectors a guy said all Chernev & Reinfeld books were rubbish. I call that a jerk or a troll. Same thing.

Beautiful find. Did you just acquire it?

About a year ago. On ebay. I ran across the Facebook group. So I took the pictures and then thought about Chess.com.

I think it was $10. From a used book store on Ebay.

Why do you like it?

I like the way it organizes and describes tactics. Also it has a diagram for every couple of moves. So it's like a problem book and you don't need a board to work through it.

That sounds good.

Amazing book.  I have it in paperback (1969 printing).

Perhaps the best intro to tactics book ever written.

It is an outstanding introduction to tactics targeted primarily to the beginner- novice player...

Great find! Another thing about this, and many older chess books, is their aesthetically pleasing layout! I have to confess that some of the most highly spoken of books today, from the best publishing houses, have a layout which strongly detracts from the pleasure of reading those books.
