My vintage Chavet set on my DGT board. I'm not fussy ...
Your perfect set

My vintage Chavet set on my DGT board. I'm not fussy ...
is your chavet converted with chips to work with the dgt computer functionality? It must be a player's favorite type of set, I see lots of tournaments using that style set
I like the burled walnut/burled ash board I saw at HoS.

Very nice! My own combo would have to be my 4" Rio Staunton set on a board of this design: http://www.houseofstaunton.com/signature-contemporary-ii-chessboard-african-palisander-curly-maple-2-5-squares.html Can't help to like the somewhat elevated playing area!
My favorite set of all time is my red stained Dubrovnik 2.0 set from Chess Bazaar. The "Latvian" set from the same manufacturer is a very close 2nd.
I have many, many nicer and more expensive sets, but those two just steal it for me!

Hi - No these are just standard weighted pieces from Chavet.

I've got a House of Staunton Imperial Collector set in ebony/boxwood with the nice mahogany chest and a green and white burl maple wood board. Beautiful set. Used to have a Staunton Morphy set that was equally beautiful but sold that off since having two was overkill.

MY HOS Mammoth Ivory set on my HOS Signature Contemporary Walnut Burl/Maple Burl board (2.5" squares). Exquisite!

Just received this set this morning. I bought it at The Official Staunton Chess Company: https://www.officialstaunton.com
Hands down, this vintage Italian neo-modern set in solid sterling silver. Heavy, smooth, an absolute rare beauty.
My Dubrovnik II from CB in crimson on a gray burl (ash burl?) and maple 22" board that came from Italy takes the ribbon. All displayed on a bamboowood table with a customized lamp. A thin red stripe surrounds the 18" playing surface of the board and it just pops romantically with the red pieces.
Secondly, my 1941 WWII Pinney set from CB on my 18 yr old walnut/maple 60mm sq. board. The pitch black pieces look devilish against those brown and dark gold squares.
I have a thing for fine wood boards. I own eight.

Which set is that? I can't seem to find it on Official Stauntons website.
So, if you could choose 1 board and 1 set of pieces, money not being an issue, what would be your ultimate setup?
