Please excuse the dumb Facebook name I was 15 when I made that name and for some reason it doesn’t wanna change
1270-80 to 1500 rating journey, need solid advice

I wish I had positional awareness too when I was 1300. Until now my positional radar is weak, I am working on it.

...." I’m a very lazy calculator and I mostly finish my games in the middle game where I look for a strategy that’s stronger than my opponent’s strategy, a lot of the time it works and I mostly lose games cause of really ugly blunders ( just not realizing that an opponent has a piece defending a square cause of how lazy I am to actually evaluate the position before making a move and how to approach it) "
I think we've found the problem...
if you want to improve, you can't be "lazy"....also, calculation and tactics is a huge aspect of chess. I highly recommend you read The Woodpecker Method by Axel Smith....it helped me immensely
I just breezed through our game and found some serious issues and similar pattern of mistake, first of all you are dropping the pieces, secondly you are not playing the opening properly ie not developing the pieces and stuff. Thirdly you arent taking the opponents pieces even when they are free, And lastly you are ignoring king safety in few of your games.
You talk a lot about the strategy but that is what you are missing in your game.
For improving you have to solve a lot of tactics and play the games a bit slowly, cuz you are missing a lot in the game.
Hello everyone (: yes this is an Antonio reference
Ive downloaded chess.com since a year and haven’t been playing a lot, kind of played it when I was waiting for something or someone but nothing too serious, since August (2019) I committed myself to finding a real hobby from chess, As I find it very fascinating how positions arise and I love the so called middle game where strategies start to show their aim, I have been on a rise since then and reached 1200 (from 800 in August) and dipped back to 1100 and bounced back again to 1285 this week.
I’m kind of ashamed to say I’m a very lazy calculator and I mostly finish my games in the middle game where I look for a strategy that’s stronger than my opponent’s strategy, a lot of the time it works and I mostly lose games cause of really ugly blunders ( just not realizing that an opponent has a piece defending a square cause of how lazy I am to actually evaluate the position before making a move and how to approach it)
I really don’t care about openings as much as I care about getting my pieces out no matter how ugly it is.. castling comes first.
I mostly play positionally and always look for initiative whenever I find an opening in a position but I don’t use a lot of tricks, I’d rather play solidly than to use a trick and have it backfire on me because I missed a move from my opponent
Anyways now that I described my style trying to help you ladies and gentlemen of pinpointing where I need to improve and how I can do that, Thank you for any input and I don’t know if this matters or not but I’m 20 years old
