Alexander Alekhine totally did not bring a gun to a tournament. It is when a heavy piece joins 2 or more pieces of the same file.
I can not put images because I have no laptop-files and I am on Lenovo Windows so it is gonna be little bit rigged. But here is an example of it.
The white queen brought the Queen to the file with already 2 rooks inhabiting that file.
