Hey everyone, I'm new to chess and looking for some advice on improving my opening strategy. Can anyone recommend some resources or tips for beginners? Thanks! ehall

Each opening has specific ideas and goals. Understanding the typical plans, pawn structures and tactics will help you navigate the positions better than rote memorization.

You should pick a couple of openings and learn a lot about them, I always do 1.e4 if im ever white and that means I can do Caro Kann, Kings Gambit and a lot more. So pick a couple of openings and learn about them not just about what you can do after doing the opening but its history as well

To boot from your external hard drive instead of the internal SSD on your Lenovo Ideapad S130, you need to adjust the BIOS settings. First, restart the laptop and enter the BIOS by pressing F2 (or another key like F12 or ESC, depending on the model) during startup.

Don’t move pawns a lot. 3 or 4 maybe, but you dog prioritize pieces after 1 or 2 pawn moves.

Don’t move the same piece twice. Pretty simple.

Don’t stack with your queen. Your opponent will kick it a lot.

If your opponent breaks a rule, you can too.

You can learn chess from here. applebees

LOSTATCHESS

learning here costs money

premium is a good start if you can afford it

then paid subscription with a teacher thing is the next level thing if you can afford it

then private teacher one on one on zoom if you got boat loads of money

everything costs money --knowledge costs iam afraid-- good luck

i have been here a while and still can't play worth a !@#$hit

but if i could afford some lessons i am sure to get better

so thing about it -- what is one thing you can give up monthly to pay for lessons -- then get better ---- good luck

I think chessable has some free opening courses and some pay for. I'd look on gothamchess's chessable. Also watch gothamchess it's interesting and you can learn from him. He has some opening videos on YouTube I would watch too. He did one on the ponziani and I played it all the way up until 2100 lol.
