Hi all,

I have been working with the team for about 2 months. I must say having a coach has helped to motivate me and has helped to really show me my weaknesses. I was around 800 -850 when I started and I have quickly seen improvements in my blunder rate, how I approach the game, and really improving my weaknesses. My elo is now close to 1100 and I have won unrated games against opponents as high as 1600. I have developed a more solid skill set, and I think it will continue to go up. My coach has been receptive, reviews games with me even off time, shares videos that can help for my particular struggles, even off lesson time. Lessons are fun and start with some puzzles and quick games. I will say my coach has been great at feeling me out and now the lessons are very designed to work on my weak points — lines I struggle with in games, middle game concepts that tend to cause me to fail, and more challenging thought exercises to continue to push my limits.

I have found it to be very rewarding and at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend giving it a try. I am even an older guy with a demanding profession. Even with this, I find no problem continuing to learn and have enjoyed playing more and more. My kids are now playing and the coach has been great with them. It’s been a great family activity for us.

Having had a few lessons with the academy, I can only say that my chess level has soared. Having a chess coach that takes the time to analyze your games and correctly identify your weaknesses makes all the difference, even if sometimes it’s just confirming what you thought. 
I learn something new every single lesson, be it a new opening, principle or thought process I lacked. One part of the lesson I really enjoy is the fact that I can play with my coach who’s rated hundreds of points more than me, and in those games all of my weaknesses are exposed and so that I can work on them.

The lessons are set at a great price and are really worth it, I really recommend ThinkSquareChessAcademy !
