My kids respond best to personal instruction.  Is there a good way to find them an instructor - not too expensive -- that could do online lessons for them?   They are beginners (know how to move the pieces, do a decent job covering and defending and occasionally will do puzzles on this site or if I set them up for them from books.)

Yes. The coaches page is a good place to start.  Chess.com does some checking on the folks who post there.

But have you tried chesskid.com? It is designed for teaching young kids and restricts them from being subjected to some of the inappropriate things you run into on websites.

That's great advice.   Thank you.  I will look.
