Free coaching / Analysis, Pointing toward right direction to increase rating :)
Nice to see someone else helping other chess players too ![]()
I don't have as much time to spend on "coaching" like @Thematicplayer is offering, but here is an article I wrote that many beginner to intermediate players have told me they found helpful. It isn't anything completely new to the chess world, but it is nice to have some resources on "opening principles" in one place and to many players, this is new information.

Also, if anyone wants to message me sometime, I'd be glad to also help others/play unrated games (free of charge of course). I'd even be interested in playing some unrated games with you too @Thematicplayer - preferably longer live games for quality, but we could also play unrated blitz for fun if you are shorter on time as I often am ![]()
@thematicplayer sat down with me for about an hour, reviewing past games, giving me pointers and strategy tips.
It was really helpful
I am on vacation coming back on August 28. First I will have to finish teaching people who have posted here, so anyone posting after the time of this message which is August 25 4pm Mountain time will be delayed. If you posted before August 25 make sure to be available this weekend. I will be conducting lessons this weekend.
Hi Guys,
I am teaching chess for free, when I have time. Requirement: 1600 rating or below.
I have taught about 10 people so far. I have been frequently been in touch with these people. They seem to have right thinking process when they play for now. Also, quality of their games have improved.
If you are interested just post on this forum or PM me. I will definitely get to you for lesson.
My lessons will focus on following:
1. Eliminate Random moves in chess.
(Time it takes to understand - 30 mins, Implement in your game - 3 days)
2. Choosing best moves in most position. (any position if you master the concept of course this depends on your visualization skill)
(Time to understand - 3 hours , Implement concept in your game: Immediate - 1 month)
3. Eliminate overlooking of tactics.
(Time to understand - 2 hours, Implement in your game - Immediate - 1 week)
4. Strong Positional understanding.
(Time to understand - 6-8 hours, Implement in your game: Immediate - 3 months.)
5. Tactics (This is just part of choosing best move)
(Time to understand : 1 hour, Time it takes to implement in your game: Immediate - 1 week).
6. Opening concept.
(Time to understand 1 hour, Time to implement in your game: Immediate)
7. Refer you with correct reference so you know exactly which chess book you should master.
Remember time to implement if it says immediate - this means you will know it right away. But since many people go back old habits and start playing like their old self, is the reason I said 3 months. 3 months to get it in your muscle memory or should I say brain memory?
These 3 months is reference to getting that juicy 1600 rating. If you can apply them in your every game you will definitely be better than average 1600 rated and skill level could be around 1900 rated player.
