I will pay you $2k if I get to a 1500 rapid rating in 3 months

I am looking for a coach who is willing to have some skin in the game. 

I currently suck at around 750 rapid.

i guess i could give u a few pointers.

Not gonna happen, it's not an easy fix. 

1.  Read a book on opening moves.  Learn the different alternatives, so you can screw up someone else when they try to use the 'book' moves.

2.  Positioning of pieces.  U have a tendency to let your pieces get trapped to limited movement (or maybe it's me doing it to u);  when I can limit ur choices, it makes it much easier to predict ur next move.

You don't need a coach.  For the next month, every day, do no less than 30 puzzles per day, and no less than five rounds of Puzzle Rush Survival Mode.  Don't play any games during that month.

The month after that, keep playing the puzzles, keep playing puzzle rush, but start playing in Rapid Arena Tournaments, the whole hour from start to finish, one per day.

Same thing for month three.  If you can do more puzzles, do more puzzles.  If you can do more than one arena per day, then do more.

For every second loss as white, do the game analysis and go through it so you understand why each move wasn't either best or excellent.  SPOILER ALERT:  In most cases, you had a move that would control the centre better than the move you played.  In the rest of the cases it will be a tactic you missed.

You won't get to 1500, but if you do this, you will gain hundreds of rating points.

I was really impressed with your recent four games.  I understood your thinking, I've been there.  We've all been there.  There is definitely hope for you, even if you're like 50.  If your younger than that, all the better.

He hasn't played a single game or done a single puzzle since he posted this a week ago.  I think the goal of getting him to 1500 isn't realistic if he's not willing to play.
