Hi
I cannot activate the analysis board in chess mentor. Am I doing something wrong? Something else: it is true that the variants giving in the explanations are not active? In the app "eChess books" it is possible to play all variants, so I do not need a chess board for this purpose. I would expecte the same from a so expensive program like chess mentor...
Thanks
Much of Chess Mentor was written more than a decade ago. The domain chess.com was started in 1995 to sell Chess Mentor. The chess.com domain and Chess Mentor product were bought by the current owners of chess.com in 2005 and incorporated into what you now experience as chess.com.
There have been many updates of chess.com and more are in progress (Have you tried the new version?) but Chess Mentor hasn't been getting a lot of attention.
There may be other sites out there offering similar products now that have more bells and whistles but it is doubtful that they offer the same depth of lessons that chess.com's Chess Mentor offers. Chess Mentor has close to 4,000 lessons.
How many do they have on that app?
I think my version is a new one, but I do not know how many lessons it has. The lessons are terrific, I think I can realy improve my game with it. Ok, there is this problem of variants which I cannot play though, but - well, I can try to mentalize these lines and this will also improve my game. What is a big negative point is the fact that I have to be online to work with it. I see now how much time I spend with exercise when I am not home.
