I will coach anyone who is willing to learn how to play chess better. I am a Class A chess player and I am very close to Expert Level Player. My hourly rate is $25/hr. If you are interested, you can contact me through him. If local (I live in Norristown, PA area), we can meet up at a mutual location. If far away, I can coach through Zoom or Skype. Let me know if any of you are interested.

Best,

Matt Martello

I know a NM that coaches for $4/ hour

thegreat_patzer

and a good friend and great coach that charge $10/hour.

25 is charging too much (or offering too little information on why your coaching is worth that), and if your inbox isn't full of people.... well.

you need to work on your sales pitch a little...

I thought that coaching lessons were usually around 100 dollars an hour, guess i'm wrong.

thegreat_patzer

@starboy...

mmm. no.

a few Very celebrated book authors charge 80$/hr , and perhaps a famous Gm coach or player...

but you need solid credentials to charge more than $40, IMHO.

Honestly $25/hr is a fair price. I charge on here $35/hr before and a bunch of other chess on here told me how "unfair or too expensive" it was. I'm actually taking a pay-cut by going down to $25/hr. The reason why I am charging $25/hr on chess.com now is because other chess players on chess.com didn't think that I was qualified enough to charge $35/hr on chess.com. Look at what Varsity Tutors, wyzant tutoring, Huntington Valley, etc. charges for their tutoring services.  But if some of you (not everyone) think that $25/hr is still too much, maybe the NMs, IMs, GMs, etc. should be raising their tutoring prices than. Coaching/tutoring is very valuable and it comes at a price. I don't care if I cause chess tutoring inflation.

Many just want to play, and will not analyse their games with you. Why not put your games in the Games Analysis forum and ask for advice?

StevanJovic

My price is very reasonable  :  $15 / hour for coaching ,  $10 / hour for practice game + analyze game.

I'm looking for opponents who are rated 500-1500. I've played on and off since 2001. I did two weeks of tactics training this month. The easy computer crushed me like a bug today. Very sobering. Anyways, I'm willing to play both rated and unrated games (20 minutes is probably ideal for me). Steal my queen. Help yourself to my pawns. grin.png
