Can we view individual Mentor lessons in V3 ?

A list of individual lessons is available in V2 with the "view lessons" command.  Would anyone know if this feature is available in V3?  i can only find a "view courses" option?  If i click on a course... lesson one is immediately loaded and i have no idea what lessons will follow?   i mean, in V2 we can open a course and see each and every lesson...  we can also choose an individual lesson from within a course.   The only way i seem to be able to see individual lessons in V3 is to switch back to V2 and look?  I cnat figure it out... maybe dad was right when he told me i should stick to checkers . . . Grrr

I can do it with courses I've completed, but I haven't tried a new course in V3.  The list of lessons seems to have disappeared though so you may be right.  I've always done the course lessons in order though.  Why do you want to choose individual lessons from a course you haven't taken yet?  For review purposes, sure, I understand and choose whatever I want too, but first time through shouldn't you have a little trust in the author of the course and do the lessons in order?  Or maybe I don't understand your question.  They did change the CM's look and feel significantly, but all the lessons are still the same.

Tnx for the info and i agree that a full course may be the way to go.   but since u asked......

i'am a beginner working up the courage to play my first live game on here... can u rem' your very first game?  kinda a big deal right?  your first time Laughing   i have a specific opening in my "chess-inferior-girly-mind"  and always looking for info related to it.  i also don't have a lot of free time (high skool kid)  so without knowing in advance what lessons are covered in... lets say, a course on BEGINNER OPENINGS... i could spend a week (i'am slow) working my way thru 20 lessons... only to discover MY opening wasn't included in the course.  It seems as though V3 limits options from 100's and 100's of lessons (in V2) to a handfull of "courses".  But like u said, it's all good.

Sure, that makes sense.  I see two problems though.  First is psychological; the longer you wait to play your first game, the bigger a deal it becomes.  Oh sure if you were talking about your first OTB tournament, then yeah, but on the internet, who cares?  Which brings me to point two.  If your opponent is a fellow beginner, they'll be out of book very quickly anyway so opening prep is maybe not all that useful.  But hey, welcome to the game and the important thing is to have fun, so if you want to study more before jumping in, that's fine.  The ChessMentor does have some opening courses that are great introductions, but the serious opening studies are over in the video department.  But maybe that can wait ...Wink

i have more problems than that... trust me!

your comments make sense and tnx for mentioning video'   i couldn't believe my eyes when i clicked on the "Library" option and found everything i had been looking for in individual lessons.  so it looks like u were right about Courses too.   if i did the opposite of everything i think i should do i would probably be a whole lot better off      gooddog !
