Using New Mentor format

I'm sorry but I'm having a little trouble using the "new" Mentor format. Is there a brief tutorial for best way to work it? Maybe even a definition of what are objectives, what is difference between "lessons" and "drills", etc. Also, really don't understand purpose of "study plan" contained in (some of?) the Lessons.

I suppose hunt and peck will work but I sure liked the structure of the "old" Chess Mentor.

Again, any tutorials or structure definitions/objectives?

Thanks.

As mentioned above, I couldn't make sense of the study plan circles under "lessons" so I went back to v2, clicked on Study Plans" and then switched to v3. I found a wonderful list of study plans called Study Plan Directory but I can't figure out how to get to it directly while in v3 (other than marking it a "favorite".

Really, what am I missing here. I could hunt and peck forever and probably miss many of v3's features.

Also, I don't know why no one has responded to my last three new topics. Are the topics that boring?

I have a diamond membership and I know this doesn't make me special but I do think someone from staff should really answer my posts re the new chess mentor. They are under the Chess Mentor forum under the topic "using new mentor format".

I also noticed several other posts with similar questions and no replies.

Maybe I need to send in a help request? They always suggest trying Forums. Will, I have with no luck.

I did find a list of courses but I had to go to FAQ's to find it.

Help & Support forums will likely generate more reads by staff, though I think most of the work is done by tickets. You will see staff input in other forums too, just not quite as often.

Mentor has changed quite a bit from v2. I just found out today that the Study Plans were directly integrated into it too.

Where are Study Plans? Are they the circles (that aren't much help).

There used to be a great tutorial for Mentor but can't find that either.

Thanks.

Also, I'll try to enter all this under H&S Forum.

Yeah, each one of the plans is under the appropriate circle.

As for a tutorial, I'm not sure.

I'm trying this thread again. I know I'm not getting the most out of "Lessons" and I am wondering if there is an explanation of how to proceed through it. In v2's Chess Mentor, I knew how to work through the lessons but keep getting hung up with beginner's stuff under v3.

Anyone?

Lessons needs some additional tweaking to make it more useful. I used the adaptive method on the old version but that doesn't appear to be implemented at this point.

Thanks Martin.

IMO, Chess Mentor used to be one of the major features of Chess.com and helped separate Chess.com from the other chess sites. It seems a shame they have let this go for so long. With some tweaking and possibly a tutorial (as in v2), it could again be one of Chess.com's major features and selling points.

Any idea if it is being looked at?

No idea what the roadmap looks like for Lessons. I would imagine that they plan on getting it up to feature parity with v2 but that is just a guess.
