Most people under 35 have plenty of hair. Almost every world champion captures the title before he is 35. A much simpler explanation!

Yep. And even within this set of young guns, we have Tal and Anand already mentioned, and it also looks like Botvinnick had...let's say "an ample forehead".

Excellent thread - well done OP!

This explains why Bronstein could never become World Champion

You deserve a price for this. Yes, he was talented enough but... hair man... so he didn't heir the throne.

Kramnik is so lucky.  Aside from having all that hair, he also got to fondle all those gorgeous original chavet pieces.

Alekhines hairline was receding a bit.

In fact, you see men with more hair in the "before" pics, in those Hair Club commercials.

I was hesitant to post this but since it's based on science so I did anyway. As can be seen, by all recent scientific studies on World Chess Champions, all chess World Champions had hair. Some even had beautiful long gleaming hair, yes gimmie a head with Hair. Shirley there is a scientific connection between chess and hair notice no bald World Chess Champions. Out of all the World Champions, I think Bobby Fischer had the best hair, hence his incredible play, yes Bobby Fischer was a real wiener indeed, oops I meant winner sorry. Anyways thanks for viewing my scientific thoughts on chess and hair any responses are welcome.

I think there's a similar discussion here <a href="https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/are-chess-players-more-likely-to-be-losing-their-hair-and-balding">https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/are-chess-players-more-likely-to-be-losing-their-hair-and-balding</a>
