racism in chess

hello,

i recently have seen the report of carlsen vs giri in a fight against racism. i feel it is just what the world needs. certainly, carlsen and giri, two immortal men, a but a mere blip on the history of chess. but they two, fearing nothing, take on the worlds racists in this terrifying battle. for who was it that said white pieces should move first? a white man i wager?

but this is history, we are talking today and more importantly tomorrow. for todays children will be tomorrows leaders and tomorrows leaders most be ready to fight the instense battle of ignorance vs what is correct, ethically, socially and most importantly, politically correct!

never before has the human race faced such an awful sight as that as racism. adolf hitler came and went polpot and lenin were amateurs and their victims jokes to be made in a dirty mens room in the back of some filthy public house. for today we fight racism by changing the vile, filthy rules of the worlds most ancient game, chess. to what we change today with topple tomorrows facists! we shall burn the books of old chess,  lighting the skies for miles around! we shall rewrite with the new way, that shall shine a guiding light leading us towards an equal tomorrow.

so i say brothers, sisters and those not yet made up their minds, burn your chess books, destroy any chess club or shop that refuses to bow to our demands. kick to the streets the non-believers for if they refuse, they are racist and facist. only those that agree with our ideaology are true men, women and transpeople. fight until your knuckles bleed and kill anyone that disagrees!

This post is ridiculous. The game originated out of India long before it felt it’s influence against any western civilizations.

Please educate yourself before you come on public forums and start screaming political garbage. Everyone stands against racism, but the irony is you engage in reverse racism.

April 1st today is not

Seriously, there was a precursor to chess, chatarunga, that used black and white pieces. The only difference in the setup was that the queens had their positions switched with the queens. They also had black and white pieces. Was it intended to be racist? NO! Racism was common in the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th century. Chess was invented in the 6th century AD. Absolute buffoon.

Also, simon1138, that's kinda extreme.

why hasn't anyone noticed that my post was a troll. are you all thick?

but seriously, please leave chess out of the political correctness debate. leave it the way it is because of its history. if you want to make a statement about slavery then do it some other more effective, less insulting way.

Andmunko

i am surprised that people took the post seriously. i thought it was hilarious

i guess political correctness got to the point where such claims could be believable

Sorry Simon, perhaps chess players don't have a funny bone

How ironic.  Yes your post is a troll, but based on your own misunderstanding.  Carlsen and Giri's message had nothing to do with chess and nothing to do with white or black pieces or who moves first.  It's called symbolism, or perhaps better described as a metaphor.  Thick anyone?

forked_again, you are triggered and need to calm down. try to remove the sand from your lady parts and reinstall your sanitary product to stem the heavy flow you are experiencing as a result of your triggering.

Sorry ur wrong.  I just think its funny you called everyone thick.
