I'd assume f3 is to prepare e4, Saemisch-style.
1.d4 2.f3

For aggressive players, there are also Grunfeld or King's Indian - Kasparov played the K.I.D, and Fischer. Kasparov played the Grunfeld against Karpov in a world championship match:

You have good free courses in chessable: K.I.D by GM G. Jones. Grunfeld by Svidler.
Good luck.

Svidler is 2700+
Jones is 2600+, Jones is a good teacher too. Svidler probably too, but I only saw the video.

Today I played against a 1400 player and lost. He played 1.d4 followed by 2.f3. I tried to play Dutch and lost. Can anyone tell me that what is the idea behind 2.f3? and what is the name of this opening? I am an attacking player and don't know how to play a slow game. Please guide me on how to play such slow games in which pawns are moved to 1 squares and bishops are developed to 2nd rank.
