In the Anand game white seemed somewhat better throughout.

Gelfand is quite a strong Grandmaster :)))) and his 3.Bg5!? seems to be White’s best try here (because after 3.c4 Black would be able to obtain fully acceptable positions from the QGA or even from the Slav defence).
