no way to beat it!

is like cheating.

She's right!

My Houdini said mate in 141 after 1.d4! 1...d5 2.c4!

Mate in 144 after 1.d4! 1...Nf6 2.c4!

And so on, except for one move...

1...a5!

With a drawn game

Mate in a 144? Are you serious? Houdini can't look that far...

FM nobodyreally, you are rude. you have chess title but no class.

Exchange your chess title for class would be very good trade for you.

I am not being rude. You are being stubborn.

You start a topic, and many people that know much more about chess than you honestly react to it and tell you it's not cheating. Not even close. It's just nonsense.
You ignore their arguments and stick to your "d4 and c4 is cheating" point.

So either you should learn to read and listen OR you are a troll. Take your pick.

NR.

p.s.

The only excuse I would accept is that your English isn't good enough. Then I would give you the benefit of the doubt.

i admit it's not cheating, but  do you agree it's cheap opening ?

Avatar of Pulpofeira

You don't play these moves looking for traps. You play them because they are theoretically good. There are a lot of traps in other openings too, anyway.

No, I don't agree. It's not even an opening. It's just the first 2 moves.

An opening is much more than just a few moves.

Besides, i love it when my opponent tries some "cheap trick" or as you call it a "cheap opening".

Because generally "cheapo's" are unsound.

I think we are arguing semantics. I don't think she meant "cheating", it's obvious that English is not her native language. I mentioned that the Queen's Gambit is the opening with the highest winning percentage based on this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJWcJ7LxjvI It's true that there probably a lot of systems that GMs have thought through thoroughly and are technically more sound, but as far as basic, commonly-used beginner openings the Queen's Gambit is kind of "cheap", although there are many traps and ways to beat it.

Why not be cheap back and play 2...e5!?  The Budapest is one of those openings that is much more dangerous than its reputation.

Thank you for video ! ! !   Statistics support my claim.

If you are player with rating less 1300, use THE CHEAP OPENING, gain 100+ rating in 1 day.

The queen's gambit is one of the best openings, but it is not unbeatable. It is not cheating just because you don't know how to play chess.

Avatar of AlisonHart

Funny, I never felt like the Queen's gambit was 'cheap' - it always seemed kind of boring to me. When I play d4 as white and my opponent responds with d5, I'm always a little bit sad because it's not going to be a cutthroat KID or a dynamic Nimzo.

Many excellent lines for black have been recommened (but I do have a small issue with the Baltic - Watson says Qb3 is an actual refutation of Bf5 - and, whether or not its a wholesale refutation, Qb3 makes black's position harder to play than white's) - but if you really hate this opening, you can also *NEVER PLAY AGAINST THE QUEEN'S GAMBIT AGAIN*

King's Indian:

Dutch Stonewall

Nimzo Indian

The Grunfeld also exists, but I think you should probably stay out of Grunfeld land for now.....it's very difficult to play on both sides because it breeds tactics.
