Then go and play checkers or Go or some other game.  If you're quitting because you don't like a certain opening or because of a specific Youtuber, then I think you shouldn't have played chess in the first place.  Saying one of the most popular openings is cheating is just ridiculous.

I hate Staunton's gambit......but it's really not a reason to quit chess....if it's your favorite game, you'll learn to suffer through all of the mean people (like me) who play 1.d4

There's no way to beat 1 d4 2 c4?  Do some investigation.

Even I, playing the Slav, have a winning record against White's 1 d4 2 c4:

A better name for this thread would be, "help, I need a defence for d4!"

1. d4 d5 2.c4 is obviously not cheating but it is a youtube type dumb opening and more of a transpositional highway or avenue rather than an "opening" because the only merit it has is the dumb knight trap with 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.e3 b5 4.a4 c6 5.axb5 cxb5 6.Qf3 Nc6 7.Qxc6+ Bd7 8.Qf3 leading white by a piece advantage or even 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.e3 b5 4.Nc3 c6 5. a4 a6 6.axb5 cxb5 7.Nxb5  winning the pawn back due to the pin on the a-file but if Black just plays 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c5 you're entire purpose is gone or even something else like 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 or 2.e6 or 2.a6 then what happens you've lost you're entire opening plan and are left with almost nothing to do except try to win with a QGD which is basically pointless as if you're trying to win why play such a dumb opening
