Just kidding by the way, but that being said, I encourage every one of you who mock 1. e4 f6 to give the refutation.  If you do, I'll buy you a McDouble and send it in the mail!

I've found the refutation: 2.Ke2!! I want my McDouble!Laughing

But isn't black equal after 2...Kf7 with the idea of 3...Ke8?

What's the point, those?...

Like many of you in this thread, I enjoy playing unorthodox openings such as this one - purely for the element of surprise. Though I've yet to reply to 1.e4 with f6, I'd really like to try it some time. When that time comes, I may even consider  continuing with 2...Kf7.

It'd have to be OTB though, so that I can enjoy the expression of bewilderment on my opponent's face. If your opponent isn't bewildered, you know you're in trouble.

F6 is only good in certain Chess 960 positions with the bishop on the g8 square not in regular chess or your rating will only make it to 1300 at the most.

Every opening is good if you know it well.

When you play chess, I think you have a responsibility to play the best moves you know from the start. Just like how in a serious sports game it's pretty much a criminal offence to underperform for any reason.

If some joker players f6 against me I won't rematch them.

What nonsense !!!

I do not see why I should have the responsibility to play what other people consider to be the most moves. This is a game, you take it all too serious. I play for fun, not to save the world.

uhohspaghettio, have them lock me up - I am criminally responsible for playing subpar openings!  I guess you would refuse a challenge from Basman then, if he hit you with his unorthodox openings.

I see Gambitlover is a 2400 to your 2100.  I presume, after he got done mopping the floor with you, you would denounce it to facing a poor opening if he offered a rematch?  I mean, because it is okay to mop the floor with you with 1. e4 c5, but 1. e4 f6? Well, that would just be criminal.

BTW, my wife has never lost with 1. e4 f6, so....

We have saved a lot of money on personal items and food, which goes a long way when you don't have a money tree in the back yard.  It helps your mind be at ease when you play 1...f6, knowing that you have some food in the fridge after the game, thanks to the wisdom of saving money.

I'll keep this window open just in case flags. Wink

If this forum gets locked because flags is posting religion, I am going to report flags for religious posting, which is against ToS.  He/she is abusing the terms, and I will request that he/she is dealt with accordingly.  If it is good for the goose, it is good for the gander.

BirdsDaWord

Just for the record, I have already reported this issue to staff.  Posting anti-God comments is the same thing as posting pro-God comments.  They are both in violation of ToS - I will post the piece directly from the ToS (http://www.chess.com/legal.html#termsofservice:

Keep It Clean

You may not post any offensive content on Chess.com including your username, avatar, or personal description. You may not add any offensive comments, chat, or other content. The following behavior is prohibited and can result in your being kicked or banned: cheating, using offensive/vulgar language, using toilet humor, making personal attacks, spamming or advertising competitive websites, religious or political debate, intentionally pointless/distracting posts, and discussion of illegal activities (drugs, etc).

If you are intentionally trying to provoke religious debate, that puts you in violation of ToS, and if you are in constant violation, then you should deserve to be treated in accordance with the rules.  Just a bit farther up the ToS, we come to another piece:

Put simply: be nice, no cheating!

Chess.com is a friendly community for those who love chess! Please be on your best behavior as you play chess and interact with others. Failure to follow these rules will result in your account being closed.

I have requested that staff treat this type of behaviour (anti-God posts, religious posts initiated with intent to kill forums, etc) with equal treatment as if someone was posting pro-God posts.  They are one in the same.

BirdBrain,

Thank you for contacting Chess.com Member Support. Your message has been received and we will get back to you as soon as possible (usually within 24 hours). Please don't change the email subject line when replying - it helps us keep track of the conversation.

It is not fair to the other members for a few people to come together with intent to manipulate the ToS to destroy forums, have them shut down, and then suffer no consequence.  If I cannot post, neither can you.  That is fair.
