Another reason for 1.h3 at lightning chess is that u can avoid the scandinavian defense.somtimes i play 1.e4 waiting for either c5 e5 e6 c6 and i premove the Nf3 move,so my opponent grabs a free pawn and i have to find the best square for my knight to move to....
1.h3

1.h3, the Clemenz Opening and 1.h4, the Despres Opening are not good because they weaken the King´s position.
1.a3 is often played ( Karpov said it was an insult to the black player ) and it started in 1858 when Anderssen played it against Morphy, three times in their match.
Anderssen expected the reply 1. ... e5 after which he believed 2.c4 would favour white.
Yes, as a surprise in a blitz game, it can be successfull as it costs the opponent some time...

1.h3 (i know it is really really bad...but anyway)the only advantage(at blitz or bullet)is that players that are better playing on the defensive side, can have the opportunity to play as black even with the white colour...and also the opponent's bishop can no more fork their kingside knight on f3

Greenleaf, any opening can be said to be good (apart from those that a clearly refuted by a checkmate or mating sequence), it really depends how you play them, against who and under what circumstances.
As for the practical merritts of 1.h3, I would have to respectfully disagree with RomyGer. If you where a reader of the works of I.M MJ Basman, you might just come to a different conclusion. Basman in his works "The New St. George" and "The Creepy Crawly Opening" highlights his formulated strategy surrounding 1.h3 2.c4/a3..Although the way he has constituted is different from what you have suggested, I see nothing wrong with your idea as it a tempo up on 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 h6!? The Nadanian Attack. In blitz anything is worth a try.....at least once
What do you guys think about the 1.h3 move?Iam thinking of using it at lightning and even blitz chess sometime because it gives u the opportunity to play as black even with white and can avoid many theory.Any suggestions?
