4 move checkmate

Is it offensive when a player attempts a 4 move checkmate against you? I find this quite irritating as it is easy to spot, defend and leaves the player attempting it with wasted moves and a weakly placed queen brought into play too early. Is it breaching chess etiquette by offending the oppositions intelligence or is it simply the sign of an inexperienced player trying to score a cheap win? What does everybody think?

It's not offensive.  When someone does that, I say to myself, "nice try" and just do the correct defense.  I guess my opponent is a child or beginner (online games); nothing to it.  Wink

I'd say it's inexperience.
