um, you can't really choose to play the QGD as white. Black chooses whether to accept it or decline it.
The french is hard to play for beginners because you end up with a bad bishop that you can't really make use of. I would recommend the caro kann because it involves the same ideas(breaking down the center, play on the queenside) without a c8 bishop worth less than white's e4 pawn. If you want to learn the king's gambit that's your choice but it is weakening your kingside and if you cannot spot tactics very well I would recommend learning something more mainline like the ruy or QG
I have spent time trying to learn unorthodox chess openings, but now I want to learn bigger and more main openings. I am trying to learn the queen's gambit declined and king's gambit for white, and the french for black, along with an opening vs. 1. d4 that I have not decided yet. If I want to learn these openings, what should I do?
