A defense to The BBlackmar -Diemer

5...Bg4 just throws away Black's advantage. After 6.h3 Bxf3 7.Qxf3 c6, white can play 8.Be3, 8.Qf2!? or more enterprisingly 8.g4!?, when he has compensation for the pawn. The bishop pair is a serious issue, and it should not be granted to the opponent that lightly.
6.h3 Bh5 at best leads to ...c6/Bf5 variations (which are best for Black) with white granted a moderately useful h2/h3 extra tempo.
NOT TRUE!

NOT TRUE!
With all respect, your previous variation is just a blunder, sir.
...e5 is a thematic move in these positions, but using your move order, it just loses.

You don't really have to analyse it in depth, dear.
5...Bg4 is not very logical, especially since the ...Bf5 variation is such a strong recipe. Please consult Avrukh's book, I have nothing to add to his analysis (excellent stuff), excluding his suggested variation on 5.Qxf3?!. There, I think Nieuweboer's 6...Qh4+!? is stronger than Avrukh's 6...Qg4 - effectively it refutes 5.Qxf3 completely.

There is a sole point against 5...Bg4: The bishop pair. In some positions, it does not mean much, but when the center is fluid, and white has easy development, it is a very important factor. This is precisely the case here.

What she writes to you in the game chat is private, I don't think it's right to share it in the forum unless she agrees.

(I yelled an soundless, "NOOO! Don't do it, Yeka!". He baited you...knowing you'd be offended, and challenge him to a game. It was obvious to everyone, that you had no experience vs the BDG. And we, the silent majority, just knew what would happen. Yes, i was on the verge of pressing the post comment button and thus avoid the result.)

Certainly, there are many self-assured players or "postzers" but one must not be too offended by their opinions. Especially when offering advice or suggesting lines. I believe there are no 'right' or 'wrong' answers. "Trust, but verify".

(Indeed2. I kinda hoped you'd put him in his place, though....if saying so brings some comfort after an unpleasant experience)
