what do you guys think about it

1.e4 c5 2.a3 d5 3.exd5 Qxd5 4.nf3 nc6 5.Nc3 Qd8 6.Bb6 Bc7 black has equalised. So it is playable. Also depends on if black knows the theory as Bc7 is critical line in the variation or white will have a good advantage otherwise. White has multiple good moves to choose from, but they are all equal. I would feel happy and comfortble playing against this as black (until I blunder mid game as normal). What advantage do you see to it as white?

Ah well, who am I to argue...well.....it is the internet and it would be as dull as dishwater if the obvious was not pointed out all the time.....

3.exd5 is not forced

Both Bc1 to b6 and Bf8 to c7 are illegal moves

That aside, chapter 39 of his book "The modern Anti Sicilian" Serei Soloviov suggests that the gambit 6.b4 cxb4 7.axb4 Nxb4 8. New offers white attacking chances

Do have a nice day.

Seems I misentered the variation I was transcribing. Didn't copy and paste just free typed on my phone Oh well, good face palm material. I should have typed Bb5 and Bd7. I will post the FEN in a seperate quote. As you say taking isnt forced either. Lots of variety in the position. Just at exd5 it goes from equal to slight advantage black. Just as taking cxb4 isnt forced. Obviously a patzer like me will blunder even under favourable conditions.

For me it is interesting as i have scored 0/4 against 2. e6 after a 3 but 10/10 against 2. nc6 after a3
