Rubidium: I try to be a nice person, and share this to everyone, I know it's unusual to find helpful people on this site, but I try to be helpful.

Alexlaw: You were up two pawns, and you would've won a knight if you played Bg5 after d3, but you didn't so it took you a little bit longer to win.

Gavinyodog is a genius, he doesn't need help.

Then why has nobody simply posted a line where black doesn't get crushed?? You all claim this is so bad, in everything you post black is completely mowed over, that's at least what those of you who don't automatically overlook this because it moves the queen out or stupid crap like that...

You say that you want to reject the ruy lopez because it's an easy draw.

Study any of karpovs games in his prime and let me know what his grandmaster opponents did wrong because they couldnt obtain any easy draws vs him.

After you're doing doing that let me know how an opening which guarantees dead drawn equality within less than 10 moves is a better attempt than the ruy.

Go for it.

The_Gavinator

The Ruy guarantees a dead drawn equality in 3 moves.

And why not play 8.h3?

The_Gavinator

p.s.- Kasparov is the greatest player ever, of course his opponents are going to fall to him. I'm trying not to be rude, but come on bro...

pfren

Nobody moderately sane will bother posting a crappy "refutation" of an idiotic opening, like the Fartham.

Gavinyodog, you can try your terrific opening against myself. I will charge you just a measly $40 per game.

Interested?

Helzeth

after h3 black can take the initiative with nb4, forcing you to go to a3 with your knight(completely leaving the center)

Your opening is a failure if you spend two moves on your queen in order to put it on a meh square and denying the f3 square of your knight and then another move playing h6 while all black has done is developed normally. Logically it's easy to see that black is better already.

Karpov*
And karpovs opponents would NOT fail in the variation I gave(that would most certianly draw) and in this position they might even hope for something a little bit more...

You're so bad that you're making karpov lose. Stop it.

The_Gavinator

I'm sorry, Karpov is only in like the top 5 players of all time? He still is much better than the opposition he played.

And how would Nb4 put black ahead? It actually seems it puts black behind.

Helzeth
He wouldnt have been the top 5 players if he got into positions like this. He made the opening, middlegame and endgame a living hell for his opponents through constant pressure on both sides of the board, something the spanish allows. This does NOT allow that. It allows black a stable center in exchange for cheap tactical tricks that a 1700 player can solve WITHOUT EVEN SETTING UP A REAL BOARD ON HIS OWN.

Learn your place, nonrussian filth.

The_Gavinator

Why not 9. Nbc3? Two pieces for a rook but have better position...

Helzeth

Two pieces? Dream on. Black wins in the tactical skirmish(which isnt a suprise because his position is far more healthy) , winning the entire game.

Stop giving moves, now. You're just as bad as jetfighter was when he attempted to refute the parham.

edit:
Actually, maybe you've done worse. At least he had the excuse of being black and talking about an opening he most likely has no experience with. This is YOUR SYSTEM and you're failing with it.

I hope this is enough to shut you up.

The_Gavinator

That's pretty good except for the fact that it should be 10. Kd2, only jetfighter would do 10. Kd1.

Helzeth

That's pretty good except for the fact that Kd2 allows nxe4 after 11. nd5 (notice your bg5 bishop)

More rope?

I see now why you're 1300, you're blind as a bat when it comes to tactics.

pfren

Helzeth, do mind your language- else the bats will sue you for the insult.

The_Gavinator

No actually I'm a 1300 because this site makes it impossible to gain rating by normal games, and blitz games have no pre-moves so that's no good.

BTW, move 9 should be 0-0, my bad.

Rubidium

That's a great idea. Only problem is, you need to review the rules again, GM.

pfren

So, you still have to attend lesson #2: you cannot castle when you're checked.

That means that your actual rating should be around 800, which is the regular one for players which have not attended lesson #2. Which means that you are the one and only GM with a rating of 800- congrats!

Are you guys like dumb or something? How am I in check at move 9?
