it usually just transposes into mainlines of the closed sicilian. An interesting gambit is 2... d5, the point being after 3.exd5 Nf6 4.c4 e6, black has a lead in development and the f4 and c4 pawns are good targets for black's better pieces.
An Interesting response to sicilian

Apparently this is called the Mcdonnell attack so just ignore that part about me being a chess pioneer.

yeah this is the grand prix attack its pretty good but if black plays d5 he has really good chances so u sould play knight c3 before u push f4 and the point is to attack the king side and its hard to stop the threats

I think that's the grand-prix attack, original flavor -- it got very good results at first, but eventually, a cure was found. The f4 push can be deferred a few moves, avoiding some lines that have been found to favorable to black, but I believe the consensus is that the sting has gone out of this variation.

There's a good video by Nigel Davies on this opening. Although 2. Nc3 is safer, 2. f4 can allow white to develop his bishop to b5 with a Knight Behind a pawn on f4, assuming that black doesn't know about 2. ... d5... Chances are that he won't so I think it's a risk worth taking. Have you ever looked at 2. d4?

actually i haven't really analysed it wouldn't Nc3 defend though?
So I'm a 1.e4 opening guy and naturally i hit Sicilian a lot but I've recently thought of this respone to it tell me what you guys think. I'm not sure if this is somewhere or if its completely new and I'm a genius :P either way I need some feedback on pitfalls or benefits etc. Fell free to unload on theory.
