You run into tactical difficulties playing against stockfish? You dont say? I beat stockfish almost every time! Except one time where I stalemated stockfish while trying to checkmate with a queen. What a shame.

What worked before when Kasparov beat the computer Deep Blue would not work nowadays against super strong computer programs. Computers have improved dramatically in strength and in positional play in all kinds of positions that it is almost impossible to beat. Even very strong grandmasters nowadays are having a hard time to beat computers even with anti-computer openings. Humans have to play flawlessly and without error to even make a draw. It can be beaten but it would require one to play like a computer (without errors) to even have a chance against a super strong computer.
Hippo and King's Indian do well against engines. The goal is to shut down everything and prevent pawn breaks and opening of the position.
