is too much remember my friend? do not listen... listen to Lion yes? play nf3 second move, give strong position, strong horse develop... 2c4 is mistake, opponent can play Albin or Budapest or Benko yes? play horse to f3, give strong advance,

I will just assume im doing this chess thing all wrong.  Maybe i too should be worrying about being aggressive on the 2nd move of each game?

please do not disrespect my friend, game cannot be won second move, yes? If game QP v QP... best second move nf3 yes? develop horse strong and ready to king castle, then aggressive friend, listen to lion yes? game not win second move... piece must develop, king must castle, king safe yes? get king safe to corner, then we get aggressive play yes?

Uhm, NO!  After "QP v QP", or in modern terms, 1.d4 d5, the move 2.Nf3 is not the best move.  Is it an "acceptable" move?  Sure!  I've played it myself.  But 2.c4 is clearly the BEST move.

And it's a Knight, not a Horse!

The reason Nf3 is not best is that in certain lines, the Knight is better on e2.  For example, in the Exchange Queen's Gambit Declined.

sorry my friend, my english not best but let me attempt. i knowing is knight and rook but i give to say horse and castle... freedom to speech yes? c4 is not best second move friend, not anymore, because these day any opponents is expect that move yes? you play c4 on server opponent move straight away, no exception, opponent ready for this yes? to play 2nf3 is delay on server, no exception yes? opponent surprise, not expect. as adding to this, horse, knight, is develop and strong and king happy to castle soon. master say not make too much pawn move in opening yes? c4 is pawn move, is too much... horse nf3 develop piece and hing to castle, so is better move yes?

sorry, king not hing, king is happy because castle is coming and horse become free yes?

WRONG AGAIN!

There is no delay or hesitation due to 2.Nf3 as opposed to 2.c4.

A King's Indian Player:  1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6, 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 g6

A Nimzo Player:  1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6, 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 e6

A QGD Plyaer:  1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6, 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 Nf6

A Slav Player:  1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6, 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 Nf6

The list goes on.  No hesitation, no problem, no nothing!  2.Nf3 is not White's best move!

You think some 1574 clown is going to know more than an Expert (2075 over the board, 2104 here)?  PA-LEEZ!  Go back and learn Lucena's Position.  Openings are too complicated for you!  If Lucena's position is too difficult for you, maybe Tic Tac Toe is the answer!

Depending on the opening the knight will go to e2, and i don't think there is an urgency to castle on move 2.

let me educate please... you refer to rating of blitz yes? but you not refer that I only play here for less than 3 day? Less than 3 day and Lion is gained near 600 ratings point yes? Lion play long game my friend, expert yes, but not lion who say these thing, is master player... master player say of opening, do not move too many pawn, develop piece very fast, king is happy to castling very fast, you understanding? these you must learn to become high player, so QP opening move 2... nf3 is strongest move to develop piece and king happy to castling yes? 2... c4 is attack too early my friend, does not develop piece, opponent so play Albin counter game or Budapest game, Benko game, you hear of these? we play game early here as Croatia, perhap you need understand my friend... best players ever from russia and soviet and yugoslavia my friend, best at game, US and west cannot compete yes? many champion from east, with exception of Fisher and Capablanca yes? so will please respect,

I have been experimenting with d4 and e4, but when playing d4, I find it annoying to face Nf6. Any openings which are sound and aggressive that are played against Nf6?

D4 KnF6 is an excellent way to start a game. You can go C4 and either NC3 for semi slavs, queens gambits, Nimzo, Play G3 and possible Catalan, D4 Knf6 C4 g6 for Kings Indians or Gruenfeld. A lot of fun chess with Knf6!!! Better than those boring Petroff, Spanish, French Openings.!!!!meh.png

2g4? is good plan to losing my friend... move two you leave king not protected, no defence? is silly move, very bad yes? after QP and Nf6 best move is nf3 to develop piece and ready king to castle, other option e3 or maybe nc3 yes?

You could try the Colle System. d4, e3, c3, Nf3, Nbd2, Bd3. If black doesn´t know what he is doing you will get a nice attack. The same can be said about the Stonewall Attack (f4, e3, d4, c3, Nf3, Bd3).

Thank you to everyone for all the suggestions! I will look deeper into the lines such as c4, the colle, veresov, trompowsky, torre.

By the way, what is the idea of playing 2.g4?

I don't really understand

You could try the Four Pawns Attack,
1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4. e4 d6 5. f4

Based on what LionVanHalen has been saying, it is now safe to assume that lions like horses (for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as for little snacks in between meals). I would opt for a kind of Samisch set-up with 2.c4 if my opponent is particularly keen on the fianchetto but to each his own!

The Jobava-Prie Attack (a.k.a. the Jobava London System)! 1.d4 Nf6 2.Bf4 after 2...e6, 2...g6, or 2...d5, play 3.Nc3
