Just wondering because ive become somewhat fond of it -above is how i play the dutch variation as white

Well, you have to know the tricks:

mattattack99

The From's gambit is unnecessary. Black gets excellent play with 1...d5

The from's gambit lines are dangerous if you don't know them, but there isn't much else. The main problem is that the birds opening is not really dangerous for black either. black can play a comfortable KID style set up because

whites development is not really ideal to apply much pressure.

Sorry to disagree, but your comment is totally pointless. As White, you must learn how to play against even the "lesser" lines.

Id rather play against From's than d5, c5 -which I think is what matt was getting at, From's plays well enough for white but they've got to know how to navigate it just as black would have to know how to set the traps which is excessive as black can whip out the thumbscrews with a queens gambit set up

Arrg... I've been avoiding the english but im already studying the dragon so might as well make use of that xP

Well, that comment was from black's point of view.
