Any good books for a Sicilian dragon player?

I've played the Dragon for a long time and the books you want are Gawain Jones' ones as mentioned above.

The Sicilian Dragon was going out of vogue even before Fischer smoked Larsen in the famous “sac, sac, mate” game.

I always say this, but the only reason people still play it is because it’s called the dragon 🐉. If it were called the Sicilian Pink Petunia, it would’ve been forgotten years ago.

Well, the Sicilian Najdorf could have ended up being called the Sicilian kupchick, but that is another matter.

Go look in a large database with games dating to the 1900's. You will see that the first guy to play the Najdorf was a guy named Abraham Kupchick

Larsen played Nxd4 early because he had to win and was looking for initiative and needed to win, or so he said. Fischer also destroyed Gligoric who tried the dragon and after that, the Soviets stopped playing it altogether and you basically never see the dragon at the highest levels.

Fischer destroying the dragon and the yugoslav attack in general destroyed its reputation

hasn't stopped me from playing it

Sure. That’s your choice. But your getting to the rating area where opponents will start having a good handle on the Yugoslav.

Larsen played a rare sideline and didn’t play it right. The line itself isn’t all that bad (Bd7 is nonetheless better than Nxd4) and Larsen would still have had chances if he snapped the bishop on d5 when he had the chance.

Actually my coach told me Nxd4 that early is really dubious.
